Post-install checklist
What to check after the installer finishes.
- Enrol two-factor authentication. See First login.
- Point registrar A and NS records at the server. See DNS records.
- Set PTR at the provider: the server IP address should resolve to the mail hostname.
- Optional: restrict the admin area to known IP addresses.
- If you installed mail and its health check is not OK, run the mail setup script, then reset the mail admin password from the panel.
sudo bash scripts/mailcow/ensure-panel-api-key.sh- Optional: under Admin, System, Integrations, connect a GitHub App so accounts can deploy from a repository.
- Open Admin, System, and read the health checks. They cover the panel database, Docker, the host agent, disk, DNS, mail, the proxy and VPN.
- Create the first hosting account. See Add a hosting account.
