File manager and SFTP
The unique file-manager login and the account SFTP port.
Two ways into the files:
- Web file manager at
https://example.com/files/. The login is a unique user created when the account is provisioned. There is no default password, and it is not a shared admin login. - SFTP on a port in the range 22000–22999. The port, host and user are in the client portal. Extra SFTP users can be added there.
The host name for SFTP is the server, not the panel hostname, unless you have pointed a name at that same address. Use the port from the portal, not port 22.
Clients can limit that SFTP port to an allow list of IP addresses. They can also switch the file manager or SFTP off.
If a migrated site shows permission errors, the files need to be owned by the account. The operator can repair that ownership. Do not leave the document root writable by everyone to "fix" it.
