Databases and Adminer

A MariaDB 11 server for the account, users, and Adminer.

Each hosting account has its own MariaDB 11 server. In the client portal, open Databases, create a database, create a user and set privileges. Database passwords are stored encrypted.

From PHP or another app in the same account, the database host name is db. Use the database name, user and password from the portal. Do not use localhost for that connection. localhost is the web container, not the database container.

Adminer is at https://example.com/adminer/. Sign in with the same database user. You can turn Adminer off under the account's security switches when you do not want it on the internet.

A cPanel import restores the database dump it finds into this MariaDB. It does not keep the old MySQL passwords. Create a user in the portal and update the application's config.
